Being a caddie for one of the world’s best golfers seems to be a good way to make a living.

Adam Hayes, the longtime caddie for two-time major winner and LIV Golf star Jon Rahm, has listed his 100-acre estate 20 miles outside of Charlotte for $13.995 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Hayes, 49, and his wife Brandy, who’s a real estate broker, previously built and sold two homes and finished building this 5,435-square-foot house outside Denver, N.C., in 2021.

They bought the land and an adjoining property for $1 million in 2019, the Journal said, citing property records, but Hayes did not say how much the couple put into building the home.

It’s unclear how much Hayes makes for being Rahm’s caddie, but it’s safe to assume he’s doing quite well for himself, based on Rahm’s earnings.

While caddie pay varies, typically they reportedly get 5 percent of a golfer’s winnings if they make the cut, 7 percent for a top-10 finish and 10 percent if the golfer wins a tournament on the PGA Tour, on top of a base pay that can be as much as $3,000 per tournament.

Rahm, the 31-year-old Spaniard who won the 2021 U.S. Open and 2023 Masters, has earned more than $176 million in his career, according to Spotrac, which includes $87.8 million from LIV Golf in just the last three years. Rahm just won LIV’s Mexico City event on Sunday, which came with a $4 million prize.

A conservative five percent rate on the LIV Golf earnings would be just shy of $4.4 million over the last three years.

Over the course of Rahm’s career, it’s conceivable that Hayes has made eight figures.

Hayes’ home includes a $75,000 golf simulator in a 3,000-square-foot entertainment building that has a gym and batting cage.

The record home sale price in the area is $12 million, per the Journal.
