Daystar Television Network co-founder Joni Lamb recently passed away on May 7, 2026. The news was announced by the Daystar TV ministry in a statement, saying that Lab had been battling a back injury for a long time. The ministry said that the medical team was doing its best to save her, and people were praying as well. However, Joni’s condition took a worse turn in the last few days, leading to her demise.
Apart from being the co-founder, Joni was also the president and executive producer of Daystar. She was a mother of three children and had been married twice in the past. Lamb was married to Doug Weiss before her sudden demise. Her previous marriage was to the late televangelist, Marcus Lamb. Notably, the news of their engagement was first revealed in March 2023 when Joni confirmed the same while speaking on a show, Table Talk. Around three months after they got married, Joni and Doug paid USD 2.9 million for a condo in Deston.

Back in 2024, Joni Lamb said in an interview that when she and Doug Weiss revealed their relationship to everyone, most of them claimed that they were happy about it. Joni even clarified that she did not have any desire to get romantically linked to someone. She elaborated and continued:
“I wasn’t looking and had no need to do so. So many people have judged my timeline from Marcus’ death to my marriage to Doug. They question how I could have grieved enough in seven months to even think about talking to someone else. They think that’s not enough time.”

The report alleged that Joni used the profits accumulated by Daystar for her honeymoon with Doug Weiss. The expense reports featured details, including a payment of USD 100,000 made at a resort in Mexico with Joni’s credit card.

Jonathan Lab, the former Vice President of Daystar, had once expressed his objection to the expenses while speaking at a board meeting in 2023. However, board member Tom Calendar allegedly gifted the honeymoon to Joni Lamb during that period. Jonathan later claimed that Lamb might have repaid the ministry for the honeymoon expenses since everyone knew about it. Daystar eventually confirmed in a statement that the expenses were reimbursed by Lamb. While speaking on a video in 2024, Joni Lamb clarified by saying:
“There are questions about – it’s all over the internet – that Daystar paid USD 100,000 for my honeymoon. So, absolutely not – not one penny of Daystar’s money was used for our honeymoon. We paid for our honeymoon, okay? So again, there’s another lie that’s out there.”
