Popular evangelist, Joni Lamb, who co-founded one of America’s largest Christian networks, Daystar Television Network, died on May 7, 2026 at 65. Joni faced serious medical issues, which rapidly deteriorated after a recent back injury heightened her health challenges. However, even amid the dire conditions, Joni was able to spend her final moments at her home in Bedford, Texas. Joni’s untimely demise led to speculations about her cause of death. Amid that, her nephew has been speculated to reveal deets of her secret health battle at a party, and the alleged incident even got Joni’s son, Jonathan dragged into it.

The news surrounding Joni Lamb‘s family feud has taken a fresh turn, with some deets about her nephew and son surfacing. An online user, who goes by the username, @annemarieosullivan8717 made some explosive claims about Joni’s close family members. According to her, author, Laura Lynn Tyler Thompson got informed about Joni’s alleged “terminal cancer” a year before the latter’s demise. For the unversed, Laura hosted a daily program titled Laura-Lynn Live at the Eagle’s Nest in Daystar but departed from the network on November 27, 2024 citing ethical concerns. The post regarding Joni’s nephew could be read as:

“Jeanmie Laura lynn did know Joni was battling against Terminal cancer since late 2025, then she shared about this in Feb. Joni’s nephew shared this at a party to this womans son, who then shared this info. So then Laura lynn doubled down worse with attacks on Joni. It was pure wicked what she done.”

Anne shared that Joni’s unnamed nephew spilt the deets of her illness to Laura’s son at a party, who in turn told his mom. As to why this detail is concerning, Laura often posted critical comments on the Lamb family, especially Joni and her husband, Douglas Weiss. According to the original poster, the nephew’s revelation gave Laura another opportunity to attack Joni. Anne further claimed to have repeatedly asked Joni’s son, Jonathan Lamb, to stop Laura from making defamatory videos about his mother; however, he paid no heed. She claimed that Laura’s motive for attacking Joni was to claim the highest position at Daystar. Anne’s exact words were:

“…frm beginning Laura is after a top spot on Daystar, this is why she wants Jonathon to run it. I told Jonathon many times on FB to ask Laura to stop making videos about his mum. He did not listen.”

In one of her last posts about Joni, Laura mentioned that both Joni and her husband, Doug, skipped their close acquaintance, Paula White’s birthday bash. The party was held just about a week before the demise of Daystar’s president. The details surfaced after Joni’s passing, sparking public concern. The X (formerly Twitter) post by Laura stated that Joni “never misses the party” and her husband was “dying to go”; however, they were “no show” at the event.

At that time, Laura made the post because she was shocked that no one from Daystar showed up at Paula White’s happy event, which was a rare occurrence. Now the absence has taken a different meaning as we know that Joni was severely ill at that time. Doug might have skipped the birthday party to take care of his late spouse. It has brought great attention to the post, sparking heavy backlash against Laura. Many have taken to the comments to slam her alleged careless remarks on Joni, even after knowing her reason for not attending the event.
