Hyderabad: On the occasion of World Peace Day, as part of the “Arrive Alive” road safety awareness programme—a prestigious initiative of the State Government—a road safety awareness event was conducted today at a private school in Shaikpet here.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Kajal Singh, attended the programme as the Chief Guest and interacted with the students on various aspects of road safety and traffic regulations.
Highlighting that road safety and respecting the rights of fellow commuters are essential components of building a peaceful and harmonious society, she explained the importance of adhering to traffic rules, responsible road behaviour, and the prevention of road accidents.
An interactive question-and-answer session was conducted, during which students enthusiastically asked questions regarding traffic rules, road safety, and relevant laws. Singh addressed their queries and explained the applicable laws, their importance, and enforcement mechanisms in a clear and detailed manner.
Appreciating the students’ enthusiasm and awareness, the DCP encouraged them to act as responsible road users and to spread the message of road safety and mutual respect among their families and peers, emphasizing that safe roads contribute directly to peaceful communities.
Around 650 students attended the programme and actively participated in a road safety awareness display holding placards with key messages on traffic rules, road safety, and peaceful co-existence on roads.
