Kangra's Rohini Honored as 'Businesswoman of the Year' in the U.S.
Rohini Rustogi, a resident of Kangra, has been honored with the prestigious ‘Business Woman of the Year’ award for Tampa Bay by the INDO Chamber of Commerce for 2024.
As the CEO and founder of multiple Montessori schools in the U.S., including The Brandon Montessori, Riverview Montessori, SouthShore Montessori, and Edward James Samuel Montessori, Rohini has made significant contributions to education. In her acceptance speech, she reflected on her roots in Kangra and her educational journey, which began in Nainital, where her parents were educators.
Rohini moved to Tampa, Florida, in 1990 after her marriage. Initially working as a teacher’s assistant at a Montessori school to secure free education for her daughter, she gradually gained expertise in Montessori education. Inspired by her educational background in India, she opened her first Montessori school in 2001, followed by three more in subsequent years.
In 2008, she received the ‘Minority Woman Business of the Year’ award from the Brandon Chamber of Commerce, marking a significant milestone in her career. Rohini remains emotionally connected to her hometown of Kangra, where her family resides, and actively supports philanthropic efforts to assist those in need back home.
