Kanye West’s much anticipated India debut concert in New Delhi has been cancelled after organisers received security-related directives from authorities.
The rapper was scheduled to perform on May 23, 2026, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Event organisers White Fox announced the cancellation in a statement on Instagram, citing safety concerns amid the “sensitive time.”
The show had already been postponed once earlier this year. Originally scheduled for March 29, the concert was delayed due to geopolitical tensions linked to the US-Iran situation before being rescheduled for May.
The concert now stands cancelled, in view of the recent incidents of concert rowdyism in India. Recent incidents of unruly behaviour and security lapses at concerts in cities like Delhi and Mumbai have intensified calls for stricter safety measures.
Live concerts in India are increasingly facing scrutiny over crowd control and audience behaviour. In recent months, performers including Yo Yo Honey Singh and Badshah have also faced disruptions during live sets.
