Hyderabad: Film actress Karate Kalyani has lodged a complaint against the actor Prakash Raj for making comments against Ramayana and insulting Indian mythological epics.
In a complaint lodged with the Panjagutta police, she strongly criticized Prakash Raj for insulting Indian mythological epics. She accused him of making remarks that insulted Lord Sri Rama, the revered deity of millions of people, and said that those comments hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
She met Panjagutta Inspector M Ramakrishna and lodged a complaint with him. She demanded that immediate legal action be taken against Prakash Raj.
Kalyani alleged that Prakash Raj, while speaking at the Kerala Literature Festival in Kozhikode in January 2026, made “highly derogatory, distorted and malicious remarks” on Lord Sri Rama and the Ramayana.
Kalyani requested the police to register an FIR under BNS Sections 196, 299, 353 and IT Act Section 67, trace the source of the video clips, and consider blocking them under Section 69A of the IT Act as they disturb public order.
She said she preserved video clips, screenshots, and timestamps as evidence and is ready to give a detailed statement.
