The screenings will take place at prominent cinema chains such as PVR-Inox and Cinepolis, with tickets priced at an accessible ₹100, reflecting Kapoor’s commitment to inclusivity in cinema.
Kareena expressed her pride in celebrating her grandfather’s legacy through an Instagram post, stating, “His legacy lives on. We are so proud to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of my grandfather, India’s Greatest Showman.” The films included in the festival span nearly four decades and feature classics like Awaara, Shree 420, and Mera Naam Joker, which have made significant contributions to Indian cinema and garnered international acclaim.
Other family members, including Ranbir Kapoor and Randhir Kapoor, have also shared their excitement about the event. Ranbir previously announced the festival at the Indian Film Festival of India in Goa, emphasizing the importance of preserving and sharing Raj Kapoor’s cinematic legacy.
