Karisma Kapoor was quick to lean into orange’s earthier incarnation for a recent event, stepping out in a rust ensemble from Lajjoo C, curated by her go-to stylist Esha Amin Pradhan. From colour to craft, her versatile ensemble honours time-honoured elements that can move from a daytime wedding ceremony to the spirit of Diwali.

Called the Pranvi kurta set, her kurta is crafted in fine silk and cut in a relaxed straight silhouette. Its rounded neckline is adorned with dense marodi embroidery, gota work and delicate sequin accents, extending into floral and geometric motifs. The same crafts are extended on the entire canvas as scattered paisleys and buttis, whereas the sleeves are finished with ornate circular embroidery. Matching ankle-length pants showcased the detailing at the cuffs and border. Layered over the set was a sheer organza dupatta embroidered with marodi butis throughout, edged with a striped brocade border that added texture and definition and one of its sides carried a wave-like embroidered panel.
