Karmelo Anthony Case, Chilling Video Was Presented During Trial, Where He Reportedly Said ‘I Did It’

19-year-old Texas teen, Karmelo Anthony, was sentenced to 35 years in prison, after he was found guilty of murdering a fellow athlete, Austin Metcalf. The incident happened back in 2025, following which, he was arrested, and it was in June 2026, when he was sentenced to more than three decades of imprisonment, following his guilty verdict.

Amid this, reports claimed that a chilling video was shown to the jurors during the murder trial, which captured some fragments of the incident. Reportedly, several parts of the video were captured on the body camera of a school resource officer with the Frisco Police Department, Officer Eduardo Cortez. So, what was shown in the clip? An alleged video of Karmelo Anthony’s brutal incident was reportedly shown during the trial

According to the reports, state prosecutor Bill Wirskye recently showed the clip to the jurors during the murder trial of Karmelo Anthony. In the clip, Karmelo was reportedly seen holding his hands above his head, as Officer Eduraro Cortez said that he had found the ‘alleged suspect’. To mention, the alleged video doesn’t capture the entire brutal incident, but rather shows some fragments.

According to Cortez, when he said he had found the alleged suspect, Karmelo mentioned that he’s not an alleged suspect; rather, he actually did it. He also reportedly said that Metcalf put his hands on him, even when he asked him not to do the same. According to the alleged video, Karmelo was heard saying:

“I’m not alleged. I did it. He put his hands on me. I told him not to. He put his hands on me.”

If the reports are to be believed, the confrontation took place after Austin Metcalf asked Karmelo Anthony to leave when he was sitting under Memorial High School’s team tent. Some reports claimed that eyewitnesses revealed that Anthony even warned Austin, saying, ‘touch me and see what happens’, while reaching into his bag, and following this, he pulled a knife and stabbed the fellow athlete in the chest, which led him to die in his twin brother’s arms.

What did Karmelo Anthony’s family say about his guilty verdict?

To mention, Karmelo Anthony had said that he stabbed Austin Metcalf and it was an act of self-defence. Reportedly, Austin and Karmelo crossed paths at the track meet at David Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas. It was reportedly Austin and his twin brother who asked Karmelo to leave their team’s area, and it was the beginning of the fight, which eventually escalated. Following his guilty verdict, someone named Valeria Perez’s social media post went viral.

Valeria Perez is reported to be Karmelo’s girlfriend, who called him ‘sweet boy’ and said that all of them are by his side, thereby asking him to hold his head high. On the other hand, Karmelo’s parents, in a recent interview, said that their son didn’t get a fair trial, which, according to them, felt like a ‘setup’. The parents further added that they would continue to fight until justice is served to their son. Reportedly, Anthony has now been transferred to the Wallace Pack Unit, near Houston, Texas.
