Kate Cassidy has revealed she is having a tattoo tribute to late One Direction star Liam Payne removed almost two years since the singer’s death in Argentina
Kate Cassidy has revealed she is is removing tattoos including her “angel” tribute to Liam Payne. But the late singer’s partner has confirmed exactly why she has made the decision almost two years on from his tragic death.
The influencer, 27, dated Liam for two years. She was with him days before he fell to his death from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 2024.
She has continued to share their memories on social media as she regularly declares her love for the former boyband member. But she has now opted to have the ‘444’ tattoo she has in his memory lasered from her hand.
The tribute was first inked on her skin months after Liam’s death, along with ‘LP’ on her wrist. She revealed that this number was the pair’s their ‘angel number’.
But in a recent Instagram post, Kate has confirmed the tattoo is being removed. Sharing a mirror selfie on social media, Kate was seen wearing the safety goggles ahead of the removal.
She then uploaded a clip of the three digit number being erased from her hand. But while she made the decision, she said it is simply because she was removing tattoos that had been “done poorly”.
She insisted it wasn’t a permanent erasing as she has plans to “get them redone eventually”. The number has been mentioned several times by Kate in the past. And she also revealed a later that Liam had wrote for her included the digits.
In the note, which she says Liam told her not to read straight away, the singer had expressed his wish to be engaged and married within a year. And he is said to have signed off: “Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged and together forever 444.”
Kate recently had to confirm she hadn’t abandoned the pair’s rescue dog. She explained that she still lived with the canine, despite being away for three weeks on a girls’ trip to Mantauk, New York.
Earlier this month, while she was away from home, some fans thought she must have rehomed Nala. The dog was a rescue animal she got with Liam shortly before he died.
As she had been away so long, fans began to speculate about the dog’s ownership. But when she returned, she swiftly moved to clear up the rumours.
Sharing a snap of Nala on Instagram Stories, Kate wrote over the top: “Reunited!!! No, I didn’t rehome Nala. You guys are funny. I had a family friend stay at my apartment with her.”
She added: “I’d highly recommend for anyone leaving for a longer period of time to have someone stay in your home with your furry baby!!! Makes them feel less confused and they’re still at home.”
