Katie Holmes has gone public with her new boyfriend. The Dawson’s Creek star, 47, who shot to fame when she was cast in the 1990s teen drama series alongside Joshua Jackson, Michelle Williams and the late James van der Beek, has been romantically linked to visual artist Jason Bard Yarmosky for almost a month now.
Over the weekend, the actress and her new man were spotted out and about at a Ferragamo fashion event in the Hamptons as they cosied up together for the cameras.
For the glamorous occasion, Katie opted for a tasselled skirt, loose-fitting shirt and black high heels whilst Jason wore navy blue trousers and matching sweatshirt.
An onlooker told People : “He was whispering in her ear, and she was laughing, they seemed very easy together and there was a smile on her face all night. They sat together during the movie, she had her head on his shoulder at one point. They looked very cute.”
Perhaps most famously, Katie was married to fellow Hollywood star Tom Cruise from 2006 until 2012 and they are parents to 20-year-old Suri Noelle.
The A-list couple called it quits more than a decade ago, and whilst Tom has been romantically linked to several stars including Hayley Atwell and Shakira, but the Mission Impossible star has yet to marry again.
In 2016 it was reported that Katie was under a five-year restriction from publicly dating after finalising her divorce from Tom – although had begun dating movie star, Jamie Foxx in secret.
Katie and Tom were a couple for six years before their split. According to a strict contract between the couple Katie was prohibited from “letting her boyfriend near their daughter.”
A source told Radar Online in 2016: “She’s allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she’s not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri.” By agreeing to this clause, Katie reportedly received £3.6million in child support and £3.8million for herself.
Over the years, Katie has kept her private and family life out of the spotlight, but towards the end of 2024, she spoke about her daughter and how she felt as the teenager prepared to head off to higher education.
She told Town & Country magazine: “I’m proud of my daughter, Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy.”
She also added: “I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that. The members of my book club are going to get annoyed hearing from me,” she laughed. “I’ll be like, ‘Let’s meet once a week.'”
