Katie Price has done another tell all interview about her husband Lee Andrews after she headed to Dubai to try and see him, where he is being held in prison
Katie Price is back in the UK – and has more to say about her incarcerated husband Lee Andrews.
The whole saga between Katie and Lee kicked off when he was due to board a flight to the UK to appear on Good Morning Britain. He failed to show and the ITV breakfast programme later got a statement from the Foreign Office that said Lee had been detained.
At the time, he denied that on his social media stories – but later, Katie claimed she hadn’t heard from him in days and the last time they had spoke, he was in the back of a van ‘with his hands tied’.
Since then, things have only got more confusing – as the Foreign Office failed to make any more of a statement on what happened, prompting speculation about whether Lee was ‘kidnapped’, ‘in hiding’ or in prison.
The latter proved true and Katie later announced that her husband had been found in Al Awir prison in Dubai. He had claimed he had been arrested over accusations of espionage. It was later reported that it was a private civil matter.
The plot thickened as Katie headed out to Dubai for a showdown with her husband. Talk then came over a hefty sum Lee would have to pay to be freed from jail but Katie later flew back to the UK without her wedding ring – and alone.
However, she puzzled fans again this morning by posting a picture of her ring on her finger and captioning it that she loved Lee. Now, Katie has spoken out in a new chat with The Sun from Dubai.
Katie insisted she wouldn’t be paying anything to get him out of prison. “The only way Lee will get out of prison is he has to sort himself it out himself. If not, he’ll be in prison. I’m not here [in Dubai] to pay anything for anyone. There’s nothing I can do. I’ve got my own life, even though he’s part of my life,” she said.
Speaking about Lee’s travel ban, she said: “He genuinely was trying to get to Muscat. I told him, ‘No one would care if you got a flight ban, it’s not a big deal. You keep video-ing saying you’re coming and you don’t turn up.'”
For the first time, Katie also said she needed answers from Lee. “I need answers, and if I don’t like the answers, I’ll be gone. I’m 48. I don’t need to waste my time. We get along really well and he’s so intelligent … As much as I want to listen to the women [his exes] and I’m really open minded about it, I know what a good woman I am.”
Katie insisted she is “protected” and “taking notes” – warning fans not to treat her as a “mug”. She explained: “There is no way he would mess with me, and in a way I feel protected because I have the nation looking out for me.
“I’m not a mug and when I finally see Lee, I am going to question him. And if the answers I get are not right, that will be it: I’ll be done. That’s it. And I’ll just get on with my life… and not find a man on Instagram and message him.”
Katie also insisted she knows Lee has lied to her multiple times but refuses to leave the marriage until she gets the answers she needs. She also met with one of Lee’s exes Dina and said that her “eyes had been opened” after the pair’s lengthy chat. However, of course, on her return from Dubai she posted her ring and tagged Lee in an Instagram story saying she loved him.
Over the months, since they first met on social media earlier this year, fans have watched on as Katie met, got engaged and married Lee all within a few weeks of each other. From there, she flew out to Dubai multiple times but he has failed to come to the UK.
Lee has denied claims that he has a travel ban and cannot leave the UAE, but Katie has seemingly hinted he does have some sort of travel restriction. Katie’s family have stood by her throughout, but her sister Sophie has made her feelings clear on the marriage.
The Mirror broke the story that Lee had already been in prison and we also confirmed that much of his claims including his alleged connections with the royals and the Labour Party were not true.
Whatever happens next is up to Katie, as she navigates the next few days and weeks with or without Lee.
