Katie Price has revealed her plans for if and when her jailed husband Lee Andrews is released from prison after she jetted out to Dubai, where he is being remanded in custody
Katie Price is planning a showdown with her jailed husband Lee Andrews. The former glamour model hasn’t seen her husband in weeks now after he failed to show up in the UK but said she had questions for him if he is released – and will attempt to enter jail to talk to him if he’s not.
The pair were due to give their first joint interview on Good Morning Britain last month, with Lee filming himself at Muscat International Airport, claiming he was flying out. However, the video was actually filmed in Dubai International Terminal Two. Andrews, a British national living in Dubai, is reported to have a travel ban.
Good Morning Britain confirmed that Lee had been detained when he was due to board his flight. During a FaceTime call, Lee told his wife he was being detained, and his hands had been tied. It has since transpired that he was arrested and is being held at the notorious Al Awir Central Prison.
Lee was apparently set to be released on Monday and was ordered to pay a four-figure sum – he hasn’t been released yet. Katie is now in Dubai looking for answers, with a videographer documenting her trip.
In a video shared on her Facebook page, she said: “I know he’s in a prison. I’ve been told if two cases are paid they’ll let him out. I’m going to see if that’s true. If he does he gets out and then I need answers and questions to a lot of stuff.” However, she said if he’s not let out, she’ll try to get in to talk to him.
She added: “If those cases are paid and he’s not allowed out then I’ve got to try and get a visit to chat about everything. I think you only get half an hour. Either way I don’t know if I’m going to see Lee or not when I get there.”
It was originally claimed that Lee had been detained on suspicion of espionage, although it later emerged that the true reason for his arrest was due to a “private civil matter”.
Earlier today, Katie said she was going to visit the courts, the prison, and the police station. She explained that, because of the customs of the the United Arab Emirates, despite the heat, she had to cover up and chose to wear leggings and a t-shirt.
She told fans: “Today, even though it’s about 40 degrees outside, the places I’ve got to go today, you have to cover up hence the leggings, hence the jacket.”
“I mean, I can’t hide these, but I’m covered,” as she pointed to her breasts. “It’s skintight, but I’m covered. I’ve got to go to courts, prison and a police station. Not a visiting prison, but ‘the’ prison. And who knows what today’s going to bring? I’ve had four hours’ sleep, not even that.”
After fearing for Lee’s welfare after he vanished last month, Katie said last week: “I have found him – he is alive, and he is okay. I told him how worried I had been and told him I loved him. It was very rushed, but he said the authorities out there thought he was a spy. I don’t know much more than that right now.”
