Chennai: Industries Minister S. Keerthana will lead an official delegation to Germany to explore investment opportunities and strengthen industrial and technology partnerships with companies, particularly in advanced manufacturing, automobiles, electronics and precision engineering.
The visit happens during the conclusion of negotiations on the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is expected to open up greater opportunities for trade and investment between the two economies. Tamil Nadu is seeking to position itself as a preferred manufacturing destination for European companies looking to expand their presence in India and diversify their global supply chains.
According to a statement from the Industries Department, the delegation will hold leadership-level interactions with German industrialists, visit manufacturing and technology facilities and engage with companies and industry stakeholders across key sectors. It will also explore supplier linkages, sourcing opportunities and partnerships with Tamil Nadu’s existing industrial ecosystem.
The delegation will showcase the State’s manufacturing capabilities, investment-ready infrastructure, skilled workforce, industrial parks, port connectivity and established network of component suppliers.
Tamil Nadu already has a substantial industrial base in automobiles and auto components, electronics, aerospace and defence, renewable energy and industrial engineering. The government is seeking to build on these strengths by attracting higher-value investments and integrating local manufacturers more closely with global value chains.
