Nalgonda: Police have reportedly found that the killing of four members of a family in Nalgonda was allegedly carried out by hired killers engaged by a close relative over a property dispute.
Mohammed Sulthan, 45, his wife Haseena, 41, their son Muzammil, 20, and daughter Abhquarha, 11, were found murdered at their house in Telangana Colony, Nalgonda. Superintendent of police Sharath Chandra Pawar treated the case as a priority and formed five special teams to investigate the murders.
Police questioned more than 30 relatives and acquaintances of the family and reportedly grew suspicious of Haseena’s daughter Bursha and her husband. During the investigation, police allegedly found that a supari gang had been hired to eliminate the family.
According to sources, Haseena had Bursha during her first marriage to Sujauddin, a native of Nakrekal. After the couple divorced, land was registered in Bursha’s name by her father and paternal grandfather as financial security for her future. While Bursha was living with her, Haseena allegedly transferred the land to her own name. The property is now estimated to be worth more than ₹1 crore.
Bursha married a man from the same community in Nalgonda about two years ago. After the marriage, she allegedly demanded that her mother return the property, but Haseena refused. Police suspect the couple then engaged hired killers to eliminate Mohammed Sulthan, Haseena and their two children. Investigators believe the assailants also searched the house for documents related to the disputed land, based on evidence found at the crime scene.
Sujauddin, who had been working at a tent house on Thipparthy Road in Nakrekal, reportedly shifted to Hyderabad about two months ago.
Police are yet to arrest those allegedly involved in the murders.
