Hyderabad:Union coal and mines minister G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday strongly condemned Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “terrorist,” calling the remark “regrettable degeneracy” from a senior national leader.

In a statement, Reddy said Kharge’s repeated personal attacks on the Prime Minister reflected the “frustration prevailing in the Congress party.” He urged Kharge to recall his own party’s history, citing how Congress leaders under former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh held talks with Kashmir separatist militant Yasin Malik.

“Before calling Modi, who toils day and night to crush terrorism, Kharge should remember when his party leaders hugged terrorists,” Reddy remarked, adding that the public would not forgive such rhetoric.

He acknowledged that criticism is natural in politics, especially during election campaigns, but stressed there is no place for personal vilification. Reddy accused Congress of “spewing venom” over the Women’s Reservation Bill and now targeting the Prime Minister out of resentment, claiming women resent them.
