Hyderabad: BRS working president K. T. Rama Rao on Sunday reminded the Congress of the poll promises it made before coming to power. He recalled how both Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy about their promises to various sections.
He dared Revanth Reddy to declare that he would not contest in next Assembly polls if he fails to deliver.
Claiming that more than 100 auto drivers have committed suicide since Congress assumed office in Telangana, the former minister reminded Rahul Gandhi and questioned his silence about the Welfare Board which was promised.
“Before making grand new promises in Delhi, can you kindly explain what has happened to the promises you made to Telangana’s auto drivers in 2023? A welfare board was promised for auto drivers and also you had promised ₹12,000 annually to each driver. 30 months have passed, yet not a single promise has been fulfilled. Why this drama in Delhi when the promises made to Telangana’s auto drivers 3 years ago are still pending?” he asked in his post on X.
Later addressing a party meeting in the city, KTR demanded that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy fulfill the poll promises terming them as ‘420’ promises.
He dared Revanth Reddy declare he would not contest in next Assembly polls if he fails to deliver. He questioned the progress of Indiramma housing in Secunderabad Cantonment and said that not even a single unit was provided to the poor. He ridiculed that the entire administration was engaging itself in mere ‘ribbon cuttings’, for works executed during the BRS regime while appropriating all the credit for themselves.
