Within a few hours, a new statement was released announcing the passing of the racer at the age of 41.

As per a new report by the Associated Press, Kyle Busch had a collapsing episode inside a racing simulator one day before his death. The 41-year-old was found unresponsive inside a Chevrolet racing simulator on May 20, 2026. The racer passed away after his family announced that he was backing out of the upcoming races in North Carolina. Kyle was prepping for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series race at the speedway in Concord on May 22, 2026, and on May 24, 2026, at the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

On May 21, 2026, Kyle’s family took to his X account and penned a post announcing Kyle’s hospitalisation. They didn’t share details about his health scare and just mentioned that he was going through a ‘severe illness’. They further announced that he won’t be participating in the upcoming races. They requested privacy as they navigate the tough time. The post can be read as:

“Kyle has experienced a severe illness resulting in hospitalization. He is currently undergoing treatment and will not compete in any of his scheduled activities this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. We ask for understanding and privacy as our family navigates this situation.”

Just a few hours later, Kyle’s family announced a joint statement with NASCAR and revealed that the 41-year-old had passed away. They called it sudden and tragic, as the family was hoping for a speedy recovery. The statement can be read as:

“On behalf of the Busch family, everyone at Richard Childress Racing and all of NASCAR, we are devastated to announce the sudden and tragic passing of Kyle Busch. Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch. A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation.”

The news about Kyle Busch’s severe illness comes as a shock. Meanwhile, his wife, Samantha Busch, was busy Instagramming. One look at her Instagram feed, and one could see that Samantha was busy finalising her outfit for a charity event. She showed the same glimpses on her IG story. Following it, she posted a sweet family photo with her husband, Kyle, and their child, who was sleeping in her arms. Atop it, she joked about outfits worn at a NASCAR race.

She revealed that they met on a modelling assignment, that his PR lady told Samantha she wanted a ride, and that Samantha hopped in his car. In an Instagram post, Kyle talked about their first meeting, and wrote:

“He saw me from afar and asked his pr lady to ask if I wanted a ride! So needless to say I hopped in the car and the first thing I said when I saw him in his Chevy tee and ice cold car was ‘wow you got a way better assignment then I did’. He looked at me funny assuming I knew who he was and we were off.”
