Jake Hall, a standout figure on The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), has passed away at age 35 following an accident at a holiday villa in Mallorca. Police were called to the address in Santa Margalida, in the north of Majorca at 7:30am local time. An autopsy is due to take place in the coming hours in the Majorcan capital, Palma, as the Civil Guard investigates.
A source said: “Witnesses have told investigators he had been out partying all night and decided to carry on the party back at the place he was renting.” Ppolice have been told that Jake may have been agitated in the hours leading up to his death.
Tragically this was not the first time Jake had been seriously injured while on holiday. In May 2016, while in Marbella, he was caught in a violent nightclub brawl. He was rushed to intensive care after being attacked with a broken bottle. At the time, his condition was described as “stable but serious.”
It happened during his time as a central cast member on TOWIE, and he nearly lost a kidney from the aftermath of the brutal attack. Being ordered to stay in hospital for treatment, Jake shared updates of his recovery on social media and flew back to the UK a month later.
In 2017, Jake welcomed his daughter, River Bella Hall, with then-partner and Real Housewives of Cheshire star Missé Beqiri. Despite a turbulent relationship, including a 2018 restraining order following a heated row, Jake frequently credited his daughter for giving him a sense of purpose. “If I’m honest, River is the reason I’m here today,” he admitted in 2025. “Everything I do is for her and her future.”
Moving away from reality TV, Jake launched fashion brand Prévu Studio and the label was worn by stars like Bella Hadid and Romeo Beckham. However, in 2022, the brand entered administration after being sold by JD Sports to Frasers Group. Jake spoke openly about the heartbreak of losing his beloved company, seeing it as a lost legacy he had intended to build for his daughter.
Speaking about his daugher and the loss of his buisness, Jake added: “She’s amazing, and we’ve got an incredible relationship. It was the part that hurt most when I lost Prévu. I lost something that was for her, everything I do is for her and her future.”
In 2024, the star posted some cryptic photos on social media, further prompting worries about his health. He shared a snap on Instagram in a hospital bed of his bare torso covered in blue hospital stickers. “What’s the necklace say,” he commented, apparently referencing his gold pendant flaunting the word “strength”.
In another photo, Jake snapped himself lying down in his hospital bed with what appeared to be a black eye. He gave his gratitude for his fans’ support, and gushed over “all the lovely messages.”
He added: “All is well. Out tomorrow morning. The nurses here and doctors are amazing people. Thank you!!” The star also shared an array of drawings with the words “spirit”, “flesh” and “mind” and he captioned it: “Learning the hard way.”
Adding to the cryptic messages, he then shared a segment from a self-help book that said: “Your inner roommate,” followed by a final selfie, wearing a denim jacket, jeans and a cream jumper, posing in front of a mirror, giving a thumbs up. “Trying to escape now. No sleep at all,” he concluded. The reason behind Jake’s stay in hospital remains hidden.
Just hours before his death, Jake share insights into his trip on Instagram, posting a several images and videos from his holiday. Captioning his post, he said: “Life is b*****ks sometimes but I’m gonna try remember the good things – looking through things – I’m just making art – in many forms.”
Paying tribute to the post his followers responded to the shock news of his death. Social media star Jamie Corbett penned: “Rest In Peace Jake! keep dancing up there!” Blue star Antony Costa added: “So sad. What a lovely bloke you were mate RIP.” While DJ Fat Tony said: “Devastating news we love you @jakehall such an awful loss tot he world you beautiful man x.”
