Art Garfunkel will no longer be playing four gigs in the UK this month after last minute postponements due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’
Legendary artist Art Garfunkel has had to postpone his concerts in the UK at the last minute. The 85-year-old musician announced his four home shows later this month will no longer go ahead.
While the UK leg of his What a Wonderful World tour has been postponed due to “unforeseen circumstances,” his team insist they are actively trying to reschedule the dates. He had been set to entertain crowds in Watford, Manchester, Wolverhampton and at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall.
But it has now been revealed Art will be unable to perform as planned. His team said: “We are working with the venues to reschedule the dates, which will be announced shortly.
“Ticket holders are requested to retain their original tickets, as they will remain valid for the new dates. We appreciate your patience and understanding.”

The tour has been travelling all over the US and Europe since July. It is set to end on November 19.
Earlier this year, the iconic crooner postponed a concert at Robinson Center. His June 18 gig was called off due to a recording conflict being cited.
The star, best known for performing alongside Paul Simon, revealed they held an emotional secret reunion. But he admitted he is unsure if they will ever perform together again.
The duo are said to have met for dinner last year. But reflecting on the possibility of playing music again, he told People Magazine: “There were tears, there were hugs.
“I don’t know if it’ll lead to anything. I don’t think so much about him as I think about what’s ahead of me. I’m feeling very positive now.”
In June, Art told the publication his voice sounds better than ever, and went on: “In a way, you’re always back to square one. If you’re not alive and happening now, what are you? You can’t live on your past. You’ve got to keep going with a meaningful agenda.”
Simon & Garfunke scored hits such as “Sounds of Silence” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and sold over 100 million records across the globe. Garfunkel, however, always felt he was at a “disadvantage” in their partnership because he was a singer only and Simon wrote the songs.
The pair parted ways although they did reunite for an iconic 1981 concert in Central Park in New York. They went on to tour again but cancelled a planned series of concerts in 2010.
They cited problems with Art’s vocal chords as the reason behind the decision. The pair haven’t played together since.
