Liam Gallagher is being his usual teasing self on social media and appears to have dropped a huge hint that Oasis could be set to record new music for the first time in almost 20 years

Some might say that Liam Gallagher has found a brighter day as he hints there could be new Oasis music on the horizon. Fans on social media have been buzzing with excitement after his apparent cryptic hint sent them into overdrive.

The singer, 54, appeared to confirm the new music as he responded to a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter. The user wrote: “Oasis have SEVEN great albums and those songs with LIVE FOREVER.”

And ever the antagonist, Liam popped up to say: “8 including the new 1, I mean happy birthday.” His comment comes after he had teased new music as part of the band’s huge Oasis Live ’27 tour next year.

Replying on the platform last month regarding new tunes, he said: “Listen, if all goes well with the tour, I guess next step is to have a chat about new music. Can’t see us touring again unless we have new music.”

Any new music would come almost two decades after their last release. The band’s final studio record, Dig Out Your Soul, was released back in 2008. Just a year later and Oasis went through a bitter split after the Gallagher brothers had a backstage dispute.

Fans were in awe last year as they repaired their relationship and enjoyed a hugely successful reunion for the Oasis Live ’25 tour.

In total, over 11 million fans signed up for the band’s upcoming tour for codes. However, despite the huge numbers, fans hoping for even more dates to be added to next year’s run are likely to be disappointed.

Last month, the Mancunian brothers confirmed the news that fans had been waiting for – another tour, following the success of Live ’25, which saw Liam and Noel on stage together for the first time in almost 16 years.

Next year, the mega-band will play five shows in Scotland. They will then head to their beloved Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium for an impressive 11 nights on stage – with each being a sell out.

If that wasn’t enough, they’ve smashed records with a staggering six nights at Knebworth House. This beats the record of three consecutive nights, previously held by Robbie Williams.

Noel previously said of their 2025 success: “Nobody knew what was going to happen and how it was going to go. We did Cardiff and Manchester, and by the time we got to Wembley, someone said ‘Well y’know…’ And yeah, it was decided we were gonna do it. And it was all set in motion then.”

Speaking to TalkSport, he went on: “We couldn’t do Europe because our fans in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Holland, and all that have been great with us down the years, so we couldn’t do that.

“These ideas start as a little idea. Then the Vegas and Boston gigs were two we were supposed to do last time, but we couldn’t do them for some reason.”
