Oasis rock legend Liam Gallagher has given fans an insight into his new quieter life in the Cotswolds – having moved there last year to live near fellow millionaires
Liam Gallagher’s Rock ‘n’ Roll days are truly behind him now that he is enjoying country life, where his neighbours bake him scones. The 53-year-old Oasis legend is famous for his cocky outbursts and for tearing up the town with fellow music hellraisers and pop culture icons like Kate Moss, and his past use of drugs.
Last year, Liam bought the Cotswolds home of former Arsenal and England footballer Tony Adams – reportedly at a cost of £4.25 million. Having moved to the countryside after living it up in London, Liam seems to be getting used to a quieter life.
And it seems his new neighbours are generous as well as friendly – baking him all kinds of treats since he moved to the exclusive, celeb-packed area. In an exchange with fans on X, the Wonderwall singer gave a wholesome insight into his new lifestyle.
A fan asked: “Liam how are the Cotwolds people treating you, any friendly neighbours?” The star himself replied, writing: “They’re absolutely incredible, they have not stopped baking me cakes and scones.”
The singer now counts Simon Cowell, the Beckhams and Kate Moss as neighbours, as they all own multimillion-pound properties in the area. Last year, it was reported Liam snapped up Tony Adams’s old home after raking in millions from his Oasis Live ’25 world tour.
The star lives in the five-acre manor house with fiancée Debbie Gwyther, 43, and their dog Buttons. A source told The Sun at the time: “Liam loves the countryside and the house is the perfect retreat following the mammoth Oasis tour.
“Liam is also very fond of his rescue dog Buttons so wanted to find a home with plenty of outdoor space. He loves hosting so is looking forward to welcoming friends and family to the home.”
Back on X, Liam engaged in a wide range of questions from fans and followers. Ignoring arguably the most important question – if he puts jam or cream on the scones first, his neighbours bake him – he responded to questions about other bands and social media in general.
Hinting he wouldn’t trust his management team to run his own X account, the star had a blunt response when one fan typed: “I think it’s so fab that Liam Gallagher is still genuinely active on Twitter, unlike other celebrities who have handed their accounts to their management.”
He responded, writing: “Exactly I’m better than all those stuck up f**k wits.” He also did not take kindly to a fan that argued the Libertines and The Smiths are better acts than Oasis, replying: “CUCKOO”.
And Liam was on hand to answer some general life questions from some fans – including one who asked: “Any advice for my hangover?” Liam’s response: “Don’t drink.”
Ahead of the 2025 Oasis world tour, Liam revealed he would be giving up booze and cigarettes in order to protect his vocals as he prepared to embark on his string of gigs. The move led to the star opting to live a cleaner life more generally, as he felt the benefits of his health kick.
Following the conclusion of the tour, he told fans online: “I had a few beers wasn’t feeling it I’m back on the righteous path free from temptation.”
Fans noted the performance of the band while on tour last year, with one commenting online: “You’ve done a great job staying healthy for the gigs, Liam. I’m sorry u have to live like a monk during the tour – but damn, you’re killing it!! Thank you thank you thank you.”
The star himself candidly replied at the time: “Oasis saved my life it’s about time I sorted my nappa [head] out I know how much this means to people so stopping drinking and smoking and snorting Gary baldies are sacrifices that needed to be made thems the rules MCFC.”
