Oasis icon Liam Gallagher wasn’t holding back when he dealt with trolls online following the Premier League’s findings against his beloved Manchester City

Liam Gallagher launched into an explosive rant after it was confirmed his beloved Manchester City could face expulsion from the Premier League. The Premier League announced earlier this week that City had been found guilty of 114 charges brought against them for financial breaches.

City quickly responded by maintaining their innocence and are set to launch an appeal, with the club expected to file before Friday’s deadline. It remains to be seen what punishment is given to the Premier League giants, with reports claiming that chiefs at other football clubs want a sanction to be imposed before the end of the season.

But as fans face the brunt of the backlash, Oasis icon Liam wasn’t prepared to take it lying down. As followers called him – and the club – out on X, formerly known as Twitter, he fired back with a string of expletives.

After one user said: “The fans off opposing fans will let them know every match. Sky will have to turn off the crowd mikes…,” Liam hit back: “We’re not f***ing scared of your f***ing s***ty boos and neurotic chants sit down.”

And as other followers called out Manchester City for “cheating,” Liam stood by his team. “F*** the PL there [sic] the cheats,” he insisted.

Liam also supported Manchester City’s sponsors Etihad Airways, who have threatened legal action against the Premier League.

One major finding from the Premier League 40-page document, was that the club had been found guilty of inflating their revenue by around £900m. It was alleged they did so through ‘sham’ contracts with sponsors, claiming they had been funded by the club’s owners.

Despite not being named in the documents, Etihad issued a statement criticising the reveal. And Liam quickly supported their statement. “The PL are ****,” he said. “”Relegate them, fine them and throw away the key the s***c****.”

It’s far from the first time he has turned the air blue – and not in support of his team’s colours. A day earlier, he became stuck in a bizarre exchange with former soap star Charlie Lawson.

The actor, who is best known for playing the role of Jim McDonald on Coronation Street, had claimed that Oasis weren’t as good as people make out.

Charlie responded to a post that read: “Alright, no sitting on the fence. Do you think Oasis are overhyped… or are they genuinely one of the best bands the world has ever seen?”

Laying his cards on the table, the actor, 67, branded the band “distinctly average”. But the post was soon brought to Liam’s attention and he fired back: “Like your f***ing acting skills.”

It was a confrontation that left followers rushing for the popcorn. One user commented: “The beef I never thought I’d see in my lifetime Jim McDonald and Liam Gallagher my life is now complete, so it is.”
