Liam Gallagher has revealed that he was asked to take part in Celebrity Traitors, but the music legend turned down offers from production bosses
Liam Gallagher has shared why he refused to take part in The Celebrity Traitors. Fans of the Oasis rock God have been vocal on social media about their desire to see Liam, 54, play the game in the Scottish Highlands.
However, the musician who resides in North London won’t be donning his wellies and parka any time soon, and we certainly won’t be seeing him rocking the iconic green Traitors cape.
Instead, despite bosses attempting to get Liam to sign up for the series, he admits he flat-out refused two years in a row. “They should put Liam on Celebrity Traitors,” said one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter. Responding in view of his 3.8million followers, Liam revealed: “I’ve been asked it’s not my thing I’m not a celebrity.”

But it seems as though Liam’s fans disagreed with his reasoning, with one responding: “Can you imagine…? I mean there’s biblical and then there’s biblical.” A second asked: “So if it was called Rock n Roll star Godlike Genius Traitors, you’d be up for it?”
One fan went on to note that Liam previously appeared on a special edition of Celebrity Gogglebox for Stand Up 2 Cancer.
The Mirror asked the BBC if Liam was approached for The Celebrity Traitors, to which they replied: “Definitely, Maybe,” a nod to the 1994 Oasis album of the same name.
The show, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, sees contestants try to detect the traitors in the group while completing a series of challenges to win funds to contribute towards the prize pot.
If, at the end of the series, at least one traitor is left among the finalists when they collectively decide to end the game, the faithfuls – those who are not traitors – lose out on the money, and the traitor or traitors win the full prize.
The second season of the celebrity version launched on Thursday, with the premiere becoming the most-watched debut episode of any series of the programme in the UK, averaging 8.9 million viewers.
The current season features stars including musician and actor Sebastian Croft, comedian Joanne McNally, TV presenter Maya Jama, actors Michael Sheen and Richard E. Grant, singer James Blunt and comedians Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett.
In the second episode, journalist Amol Rajan was murdered by traitors Maya and Richard, while comedian James Acaster was recruited to become the third traitor.
It ended on a cliffhanger when Grant came under the spotlight during the first roundtable after he had previously slipped up and admitted he was a traitor; viewers were left unsure who had been banished from the castle.
The Celebrity Traitors continues on Thursday at 8pm on BBC One.
