JOPLIN, MO — The 8-7 New Heights Cougars squared off with the streaking 9-4 Liberal Bulldogs in a volleyball clash in Joplin, with Liberal picking up a win in three sets.
Liberal’s outside hitter Ally Barton proved to be an offensive powerhouse for the visiting Bulldogs, scoring countless spikes for her squad.

The first set was very competitive, though, and contributions from the Cougars’ Lydia Hipple, amongst others, made it so that things were close coming down to the last 10 points of the set.
Liberal would catch a momentum swing with a couple of huge plays late, battling through and winning the first set 25-20.
They’d ride that momentum to win the next two 25-16, respectively.
The Cougars take on Exeter their next time out on the court, and Liberal, now 10-4, will play Butler on September 22.
