The boots are in supermarkets across the country

Lidl shoppers can pick up a new pair of winter boots with features similar to those of an expensive designer brand – for less than £10. Anyone visiting a Lidl store could purchase a set of ‘comfy’ brown boots for £6.99, but some shoppers could argue that at a glance they look like they should cost much more.

New to the middle aisle of Lidl, as of October 4, supermarket shoppers can find the Esmara Ladies’ Dark Brown Boots. They look similar to a popular Ugg version, on sale with a three-figure price tag of £165 direct from the brand.

The Lidl version – also available in light brown or black – is said to be “soft and fleecy”, featuring a faux sheepskin lining and finished with faux suede. The dark brown boots are slightly longer than the black ones, which are cropped.

The light brown version is the only version that comes with a faux sheepskin spreading to the outside of the boots. The “lightweight” shoes are available in stores in a variety of sizes, ranging from four to 7.5.

Looking online at alternative styles, the Classic Mini II Boot from Ugg is a close match to what Lidl is selling in terms of appearance and comes in a wider range of colours. The main difference is the price, with supermarket shoppers saving just over £158 compared to the designer make.

You can check the availability of ‘Middle of Lidl’ items for the current week before visiting the store by looking online or in the Lidl app. Specific stock levels are not shown by number, but searching your postcode or town/city should produce a list of nearby stores with an indication of whether items are “available”.

Lidl’s website says: “Due to high customer traffic and strong sales on new on-sale days (Sundays and Thursdays), the traffic lights will only be activated from 7am. Please note that availability can change at short notice and it is not guaranteed that items marked as available will still be available at the time of your visit to store.”

What else is new in Lidl?

This week (from October 5), Lidl prepares to launch one of its most popular middle aisle sales of the year – the Wooden Toy Event. Arriving in stores on Thursday, October 8, customers will have over 140 toy options to choose from in what the supermarket claims is its “biggest ever” event.

Customers can choose from a variety of small toys to large playsets, including returning favourites and new options. One of the new 2026 offers includes the LUPILU Food Truck (worth £39.99), Disney Princess Castle (worth £29.99), and LUPILU Rocking Horse (worth £19.99).

The supermarket confirmed that shoppers with Lidl Plus can also claim 10% off the full range for the first seven days after launch. See the whole collection online here.
