Lincoln Riley erupts at Ohio State coaches in wild postgame confrontation after USC upset

Lincoln Riley had just delivered the biggest victory of his USC coaching career, but apparently beating No. 2 Ohio State wasn’t enough to cool his temper.

Moments after the Trojans’ stunning 30-18 Halloween upset Saturday night at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Riley was caught on video shouting expletives at members of the Buckeyes’ coaching staff during a chaotic postgame scene near the stadium tunnel.

“Are you kidding me? F–k you!” Riley shouted at passing Ohio State staffers. “That’s bulls–t.”

The confrontation unfolded as thousands of jubilant USC fans stormed the rain-soaked field, creating a logistical nightmare for security personnel attempting to escort players, coaches and their families safely into the locker rooms.

Even Trojans quarterback Jayden Maiava was spotted helping security navigate the madness.

In video circulating on X posted by Columbus-based reporter Nicole Shearin, injured Ohio State defensive end Eddrick Houston can be seen limping toward the tunnel with assistance from a Buckeyes staff member, while another demands that security allow them through.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day also appears nearby, waiting for his personnel to clear the congestion.

That’s when things got heated.

As Riley approached the security checkpoint with his family, several Ohio State staffers were permitted to pass ahead of him, seemingly triggering the USC coach’s profanity-laced outburst.

One Buckeyes staffer stopped and appeared to attempt to defuse the situation. Another said something inaudible, but Riley continued walking with his family without engaging further.

The confrontation was a fittingly combustible conclusion to a highly anticipated showdown that featured players jawing at one another before kickoff.
