The Detroit Lions are letting linebacker Jack Campbell know he is in their thoughts. A week after Campbell was carted off the field and hospitalized, multiple members of the Lions showed up for Sunday’s game wearing his jersey.

The team shared a few images prior to their Week 9 game against the Miami Dolphins.

Campbell was stretchered off the field after making a tackle during the team’s Week 8 game against the Minnesota Vikings. It was clear immediately Campbell had sustained a significant injury on the play, as his arms went limp and he lay motionless on the field. Eventually, the entire Lions team came out and knelt around Campbell. Some members of the team were emotional. He was later ruled out with a neck injury.

The linebacker was taken to a local hospital and was said to be making positive progress early in the week. On Wednesday, he released a statement of his own, saying he had movement in his lower body and was “continuing to make progress with movement in my upper body.”

Campbell, who is in his fourth year with the team, was off to a strong start after making the All-Pro team last season. Through seven games, he had 57 combined tackles prior to the injury.

It’s unclear when Campbell will return to the team. While he’s out, however, Campbell will remain on the minds of his teammates. The Lions made sure to send that message Sunday.
