From Italian city breaks and the Finnish Lapland to new Middle Eastern links, Berlin airport’s winter schedule brings a mix of new, returning and expanded flights.
While some connections from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) are disappearing – including several Ryanair flights – other airlines are adding, restoring or expanding their schedules from the German capital this winter.
The additions range from European city breaks and seasonal flights to Lapland to stronger connections with the Middle East and major onward travel hubs.
Here’s a look at the new flights you can catch from Berlin this winter.
New European city routes
Eurowings launched two new Italian routes from Berlin on November 2nd.
The airline now flies to Rome four times a week, on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
It serves Bologna three times a week, on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays.
Wizz Air is also expanding its European network from Berlin. The airline began flying to Vilnius in Lithuania three times a week on October 26th, and will launch two weekly flights to Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina on December 3rd.
From December 14th, Wizz Air will fly daily to Milan Malpensa, marking the airline’s first Italian route from the German capital.
Three weekly flights to Pristina in Kosovo will begin on the same day, followed by three weekly services to Suceava in Romania from December 17th.
Meanwhile, EasyJet will operate a limited pre-Christmas service to Newcastle in the UK, with two flights a week between November 20th and December 21st.

Returning winter destinations
Eurowings is restoring several routes for the winter season.
The airline will resume nonstop flights to Sarajevo on December 20th, operating twice a week. This is separate from Wizz Air’s new service to the Bosnian capital.
Eurowings will also continue flying to Lisbon and Porto in Portugal and Bilbao in Spain over the winter, with each route operating twice a week.
For a more temporary seasonal break, the airline will fly to Edinburgh in Scotland once or twice a week between December 4th and January 4th.
New flights to Finnish Lapland
Berlin travellers will have additional options for reaching Finnish Lapland this winter.
AirBaltic is planning to introduce a weekly flight to Kuusamo from December 19th.
Eurowings will add its own service to Kuusamo the following day, while also increasing the frequency of its existing flights to Rovaniemi and Kittilä compared with last winter.
New and returning Middle Eastern routes
Condor began a new daily nonstop service from BER to Abu Dhabi on October 15th.
The route operates in partnership with Etihad Airways, allowing passengers to book onward connections through Abu Dhabi to destinations in Asia, Africa and Australia – including Bangkok, Hanoi and Sydney.

Eurowings is due to restore its daily service to Dubai from November 25th.
The airline will also launch a new direct route to Baghdad in Iraq on December 10th. Flights are expected to operate once a week, on Thursdays, with an additional Tuesday service over Christmas and New Year.
A twice-weekly service to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia is also scheduled to return from November 12th.
More flights through Doha
Qatar Airways increased its Berlin–Doha service from two to three daily return flights on November 1st, with departures in the morning, around midday and in the evening.
Although Doha is not a new destination from Berlin, the extra frequency should give passengers greater flexibility when connecting to destinations across Asia, Africa, Australia and the Middle East.
