Where to Watch Liverpool v Brighton: TV and online streams

Liverpool versus Brighton kicks off at 2pm GMT on Sunday, October 25 at Anfield. The match is live on Sky Sports in the UK and can be streamed via the Sky Go app.

Global broadcast details can be found at premierleague.com.

Preview for Liverpool v Brighton

Brighton arrive at Anfield sitting above Liverpool in the table. Fabian Hürzeler’s side are third in the Premier League, four points clear of Andoni Iraola’s fifth-placed Reds, and they will fancy their chances of adding to Liverpool’s frustrations at home.

Liverpool’s league form at Anfield has been a real problem. They have yet to win a Premier League home game this season, and failing to win on Sunday would see them go their first four home league games of a campaign without a victory.

The good news for Iraola is that his side are building momentum. After the 3-0 home defeat to Manchester City, they have won three in a row, steamrollering LASK 6-3, coming from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 and then edging a thrilling 4-3 win over Villarreal at Anfield on Tuesday. Liverpool have now avoided defeat in 12 of their last 13 games in all competitions.

The Villarreal game did expose some defensive issues, though, and Iraola knows his side will need to be much tighter against Brighton.

Brighton have been one of the stories of the season. They beat champions Arsenal 3-0 at the Amex, thrashed Crystal Palace 5-0 last weekend, and they have won five, drawn one and lost one of their seven league games. They have scored 23 goals, the most in the division, and conceded only five.

Their six-match winning run ended in midweek, but only just. Hürzeler rested eight players for the Conference League trip to Jablonec, and Brighton dominated the game with 26 shots, but were held to a 0-0 draw.

Iraola has been full of praise for the Seagulls. “They are doing incredibly well and deserve all the praise they are getting,” he said. “They are well coached, very good in every phase, one of the best teams with good quality. We will have to be at our very best. I see my team in a good place.”

The Premier League Table

  • Position 1, 2, 3, 4 : Promotion – Champions League (League phase)
  • Position 5 : Promotion – Europa League (League phase)
  • Position 18, 19, 20 : Relegation – Championship

Team News for Liverpool v Brighton

Dominik Szoboszlai, Víctor Muñoz and Jeremie Frimpong are all out for Liverpool. Szoboszlai is training individually but has not yet returned to full team training, and Iraola said “we need more patience with him”.

There’s better news on Bradley Barcola, who Iraola confirmed is fully fit. Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Rio Ngumoha are all available.

For Brighton, Kaoru Mitoma, Evan Ferguson, Stefanos Tzimas and Femi Azeez remain sidelined. Yankuba Minteh and Mats Wieffer could both be involved.

Brighton have no suspensions, and Hürzeler is expected to bring back the players he rested on Thursday.

Expected line-ups for Liverpool v Brighton

Liverpool: Alisson; Araújo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Barcola, Wirtz, Ngumoha; Isak

Brighton: Verbruggen; Kadıoğlu, Vušković, Dunk, Boscagli; Groß, Andrés; Gómez, Ayari, De Cuyper; Kostoulas

Recent Form & Stats for Liverpool v Brighton

  • Brighton are one of only eight teams to have scored 23 goals in their opening seven Premier League games of a season, and the first since Manchester City in 2022-23 (23).
  • Much criticised Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz has created the most chances both overall (20) and from open play (18) in the Premier League this season
  • Brighton have won two of their last three Premier League meetings with Liverpool – as many as they won in their first 15 encounters with them.
  • Liverpool have lost just one of their last 13 home games against Brighton in all competitions, winning each of the last four at Anfield.

Prediction for Liverpool v Brighton

Brighton will fear no-one in the Premier League at the moment, particularly after dismantling Arsenal. Liverpool at Anfield is always a challenge, though, and we think the home side will shade this one.
