Lizzie Cundy lifts the lid on hosting duties aboard a gorgeous yacht, differences of opinion over Wagatha Christie and some very interesting future projects
The WhichBingo 2026 Awards ceremony took place aboard the luxurious Sunborn Yacht Hotel, Gibraltar on Wednesday 13 May – and none other than British socialite and presenter, Lizzie Cundy was the host for the 13th ceremony to date – also the fourth aboard the stunning yacht, which is part floating hotel, part spectacular events space.
Hostess with the mostest Lizzie, 58, who shares two grown-up sons with her ex-husband, former pro footballer Jason Cundy, told us, “It was such a fabulous event, darling, in the heart of Gibraltar – and on board such a beautiful yacht. I was in my element! I was hosting and it was just so much fun.”
The star, who looked stunning in a figure-hugging red dress for the soiree, was joined on the night by former reality star Nicola Adams, and former Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker, who now performs as The Fizz.
The former WAG revealed mischievously, “Nicola McLean was there, who of course was always ‘Team Vardy’ amid the Wagatha Christie scandal – and as you know, I’ve always been very much ‘Team Rooney’! But of course, we put our differences aside to make sure it was a wonderful event, and it really was!”
Opening up on one of the funny elements of the night, she said: “One hilarious highlight was the addition of a fun Gordon Ramsay lookalike, who kept coming out to join groups of people chatting – and for a second, people jumped, they did actually think it was the man himself!”
Now back in Blighty, Lizzie spilled to the Mirror that she’s got plenty of exciting projects coming up, too. “I’ve got a documentary coming up about the girls from the legendary London lap-dancing club Spearmint Rhino – why we’re bringing the girls back. It’s really about female empowerment.”
She said her regular TV spots as a talking head for various lively debates on the likes of The Jeremy Vine Show and GMB continue apace, adding: “I’m also in discussions about a very big dating show – but I can’t talk about it at the moment, I’m afraid!”
Regular jet-setter Lizzie, who is regularly seen holidaying in Barbados, often alongside her pal Bruno Tonioli, told the Mirror she is also launching her own travel business, which she hopes will help people get deals and travel for less, as prices skyrocket.”
And as if that’s not enough, there’s also a brand-new podcast about midlife is on the horizon, too. “All shall be relieved shortly, my loves!,” she laughed. “Anyone that knows me, knows that I always have a hundred things on the go!”
