Lizzy McAlpine just leveled up.
The 26-year-old folk icon just announced her 2027 The Over Country World Tour where she’ll play larger venues than ever before from April through July.
And, New York fans who pine for McAlpine are in luck.
Midway through the North American leg of the run, the Pennsylvania native will headline at NYC’s Madison Square Garden on Thursday, June 24.
“I can’t WAIT to bring these songs to life on stage and to see all of your beautiful faces, it’s gonna be so awesome,” McAlpine shared on Instagram. “Love you all and see you SO Soon.”
She’ll be joined by special guests Post Animal, Searows, Mila Bea, Worthitpurchase, Flyte and other up-and-comers on select dates.
All shows come in support of the gifted singer-songwriter’s recently-released fourth studio album “Angel,” which hit shelves on Sept. 18.
“After going viral with swooning, rom-com-ready songs, the singer-songwriter takes a more homespun approach on her fourth album, a set of folk-influenced tracks buoyed by a wandering spirit,” Pitchfork noted in a review of the record.
Prior to the album dropping, McAlpine performed a phone-free show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg for 650 of her most devoted fans to promote “Angel.”
At that gig, she played the 14-track record in full before closing with her smash hit “Spring Into Summer,” according to Set List FM.
“Hey so like all I remember is crying then I couldn’t stop for the rest of the show,” one fan wrote in an impassioned TikTok caption.
As for what to expect at her 2027 shows is anybody’s guess. All we know is that the best way to find out is live.

Lizzy McAlpine new music
On Sept. 18, McAlpine released her fourth studio album “Angel.”
For our money, the heartfelt record harkens back to the best and most ethereal of ’90s indie folk. Suzanne Vega, Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco come to mind.
Things get underway with the gorgeous yet powerful “The light in the painting,” that shows off McAlpine’s impressive timbre over dreamy, subdued synths. Bathe in the sounds here; you won’t want to get out.
Other highlights here include the pretty, pulsing “Anybody’s fool,” jangly yet heartbreaking “A car wash and a new pair of pants,” swirling, mystical “Soldier of the road” (feat. Fleet Foxes) and plodding but soaring “Peach.”
Yet, after a few spins, the track we kept coming back to was the dizzying, delicious “I have a friend” that uses a touch of almost haunting reverb to keep this deceptively simple love song about a budding romance on our toes. It makes for an electric listen.
