Former deputy PM L K Advani and former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia are among 33.13 lakh Delhi voters issued notices over discrepancies in details submitted during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Advani, his daughter Pratibha and daughter-in-law Geetika received notices after their names could not be mapped to the 2002 SIR roll; his son Jayant cleared the mapping. Sisodia, his wife Seema and son Meer have also received notices over discrepancies in their submitted details.
Delhi CEO officials said the notices were issued as part of the claims and objections process. More than 31.63 lakh notices have been served so far, with most relating to voters whose records could not be linked to the 2002 electoral roll.
Voters have been asked to submit supporting documents by October 29, while the claims and objections process ends on September 30. The final electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on November 4.
