Vijayawada: Calling upon party workers to aggressively publicise the achievements of the alliance government, Telugu Desam working president Nara Lokesh on Tuesday said they must reach up to every household and explain “our developmental and welfare initiatives.”

Addressing TD MPs, MLAs and senior leaders through a video conference from the party’s central office in Mangalagiri, Lokesh announced a statewide outreach programme from June 25 to August 10.

He said that leaders, from MPs and MLAs to booth-level functionaries, should visit every household during the 45-day campaign.

Lokesh directed party workers to distribute pamphlets and booklets highlighting government schemes and achievements. The campaign, he said, should be carried out in coordination with cadre of the JS and BJP, as per the directions from the CM.

Describing Naidu as a “brand ambassador of development”, Lokesh said the government had simultaneously implemented a wide range of welfare measures, including Talliki Vandanam, free LPG cylinders under the Deepam-2 scheme, the `4,000 NTR Bharosa pensions, assistance for auto drivers and the Annadata Sukhibhava programme for farmers.

The minister observed that developmental and welfare initiatives must be effectively communicated to the public, recalling that the party’s inability to adequately publicise its achievements between 2014 and 2019, coupled with opposition propaganda, had contributed to its electoral defeat.

He said victory celebrations would be held in all the parliament and assembly constituencies up to June 20 to highlight the state government’s performance.

Referring to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Lokesh urged party workers to remain vigilant and ensure that no genuine voter was left out. MLAs were asked to stay in constant touch with Booth Level Agents and resolve field-level issues promptly. Serious cases, he said, could be referred to the party’s Voter Verification Cell established at the TD headquarters.
