Vijayawada: The focused 100-day academic initiative led by Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh has delivered strong results in the SSC 2026 examinations, with the state recording a pass percentage of 85.25 per cent, up from 81.1 per cent last year.

Government schools, in particular, registered marked improvement, with pass percentages rising from 72.8 per cent to 78.39 per cent, narrowing the gap with private institutions. Only five government schools reported zero results.

The 100-day intervention, implemented across government schools from December 2025 to March 2026, combined continuous assessment, data-driven monitoring, and targeted academic support. This emerged as a key driver behind the improved outcomes.

A structured testing and analytics system formed the core of the programme. Students went through 46 low-pressure slip tests, with their performance data captured through LEAP mobile application and dashboards. This enabled teachers to identify learning gaps in real time and tailor their teaching accordingly.

“The outcome shows what is possible when planning, execution, and monitoring come together with a clear goal,” Lokesh underlined. He emphasised that the initiative has been designed to ensure timely support for every student. He said the government will continue to strengthen foundational learning, infrastructure, and holistic development of schools.

The education minister recalled, “A notable innovation has been the classification of students into ‘Shining Stars” and “Rising Stars” based on performance analytics. We customised teaching strategies for each category, supported by subject-wise resolution systems. The introduction of bilingual question banks and mirror-format study material in Telugu and English ensured accessibility for students with different proficiency levels.”

To support students lagging academically, the government introduced a 30-day residential programme, alongside pre-final and grand tests aimed at reducing exam stress and improving preparedness.

Girls outperformed boys in the SSC results, recording a pass percentage of 87.90 per cent compared to 82.68 per cent among boys, reflecting the consistent progress of girls in learning outcomes.

Officials attribute the gains to integration of academic planning with welfare measures, such as free uniforms, textbooks, nutritional support, and direct financial assistance, which helped improve attendance and focus among students.

Lokesh announced that the 100-day programme will now be positioned as a scalable, outcome-driven model for public education, with the state planning further refinements in the coming academic cycles.
