Lorna Hajdini Case, Judge Tells Accuser To Reveal Identity In Public Amid USD 1 Million Offer Claims

After serious sexual assault claims against JPMorgan’s senior executive, Lorna Hajdini, shocked the corporate world, the legal proceedings of the case have taken an unexpected turn. While both parties are participating in high-profile court proceedings, a New York Judge has ruled that the accuser cannot proceed with the case by hiding his identity. The decision comes after reports suggested that JPMorgan had initially offered a USD 1 million settlement to the complainant before he filed the lawsuit. 

New York judge asks accuser to reveal his identity in the Lorna Hajdini case 

According to recent court records, New York Supreme Court Judge Dakota D. Ramseur has ordered that the accuser, identified as “John Doe,” refile the lawsuit. It happened in the latest hearing. However, he specified that the case should be filed under his real name if he intends to continue proceeding with the case. For those unaware, it would officially confirm his identity in the public. In turn, the former JPMorgan employee argued that being anonymous was necessary for his and his family’s safety. 

The accuser also mentioned in his complaint that he had already received threats. At the same time, he feared some sort of threat or retaliation if his name became public. However, Lorna’s legal team challenged his claims. They argued that his identity had already came up in multiple reports and public discussions. According to reports by People and other outlets, the judge ultimately agreed with Lorna’s legal team. So, he has now issued one of the most important rulings in the case to date. 

The accuser’s lawsuit included multiple serious allegations that Lorna allegedly forced him into sexual acts, drugged him, threatened him, and continued to harass him in the initial months of 2024. On the other hand, she has denied all the allegations and filed a counter-lawsuit for defamation. Meanwhile, the accuser also brought two witnesses. One witness claimed to have seen Lorna engage in inappropriate interactions with the complainant. At the same time, the other alleged that the accuser had previously shared how he felt harassed and pressured. 

What has raised questions about the accuser’s credibility? 

JPMorgan claimed it did an internal investigation into the accuser’s allegations. But, they found no evidence. In fact, some reports claimed that the accused allegedly negotiated about a financial settlement before filing the lawsuit. According to the Wall Street Journal, JPMorgan reportedly discussed offering him a potential USD 1 million settlement in March 2026. Notably, it was before he filed the case. While other outlets claimed that he had asked for a much later amount. At the same time, the accuser’s attorney left representing him before the recent hearing. 

More about the Lorna Hajdini and JPMorgan case 

According to some reports, the accuser’s name is Chirayu Rana. But it is not officially confirmed. He had filed a lawsuit against JPMorgan’s executive director, Lorna Hajdini. She also happens to be his former boss. He alleged that she had misused used her authority.

In fact, he alleged that she forced him into sexual activities, drugging, racial abuse, and harassment. However, she and the bank strongly denied the allegations. In turn, it has become one of the most popular workplace misconduct cases in recent times. Some reports also claimed that the prosecutors had previously reviewed the allegations. But they did not pursue criminal charges.
