Lottie Tomlinson has revealed that she and her fiancé Lewis Burton have finally set a date for her wedding, which had been a ‘long process’, following a three-year-long engagement

Lottie Tomlinson and Lewis Burton have finally locked in a date for their wedding. The businesswoman and tennis ace Lewis became engaged in November 2023, after Lewis got down on one knee in Paris.

In a video shared on social media at the time, Lottie was seen following a trail of rose petals in their hotel room, leading to Lewis and their baby son Lucky, born in August 2022. The room was filled with balloons, including a large gold one that read “Marry Me”. After saying yes, an ecstatic Lottie showed off her dazzling ring to the camera. The video was set to Chelsea Cutler’s romantic song Your Bones.

Now, almost three years on, the couple have finally set a date and location. Initially, they had their hearts set on a destination wedding in Majorca. But after travelling to the Spanish island, they decided to hold their wedding in the UK, after a “long process”.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror, Lottie, 27, said: “We got engaged a few years ago now, it’s gone so quick. We always wanted to have another baby before we started wedding planning. So we had Flossie last January, and then picked up planning. We went back and forth for quite a while on venues and destinations and where we wanted to do it.

“We actually took a trip to Majorca, thinking that we were going to book a venue over there, and actually ended up not really feeling it. So we have finally settled on a venue in the UK. And it’s booked for next summer, so we’re so excited for that.”

However, it did cause stress for the couple, with Lottie saying: “It is a lot, I’m not going to lie, but it’s exciting. I feel like now I’ve got the venue booked, I can just enjoy the planning. I think that’s the stressful part, and now I can just enjoy it.”

Lottie is mum to son Lucky, three, and daughter Flossie, one, and she admits that life is completely different now – although she would never change it. “It’s not just you anymore; you want to make sure that everything’s in place for your kids, in case anything were to happen to you,” she said.

But being a busy mum and balancing her career is still something Lottie is trying to get her head around. And she’s certainly channelling her inner super-mum, like her own mother, saying: “I feel really lucky that I am in a position where I can still raise my kids, but also still chase my dreams and be ambitious.

“I think that’s a really nice movement. I think that’s happening now, towards women being able to be mums and have a successful career. And there are so many amazing mums out there that are doing both, it’s really inspiring to see. That’s something I’m trying to embody. I think it’s nice that my kids will grow up seeing a mum who is ambitious and has still followed her dreams, but also been as present as I can be for them.”

Now, as Lottie approaches the final years of her 20s, her outlook on life has completely changed. She’s no longer chasing invites to the biggest events or signing for the biggest jobs. Having spent years searching for happiness in big things, Lottie’s happiness now comes from “small things”. “That’s what makes me happy, a healthy family, calmness, just little things that make you happy,” she said, adding: “Life’s too short.”

The social media star has teamed up with Sue Ryder for their The Cab Fare-well campaign, offering passengers a free ride in exchange for a chat with trained palliative care nurses about their end-of-life questions and wishes. “It felt nice to be moving into this space more because I’ve spoken so much about grief and how I handled that,” she said, adding, “But we haven’t really ever kind of spoken about end-of-life wishes.

“And it also felt really fitting for me because I’m actually a part of a new charity called Legacy Hub, which is a portal for all your documents, all your important photos, videos. And I think that’s a really big movement that I want to help with because there was a lot of unanswered questions when my mum died about her wishes and where stuff was. And it really creates such unnecessary grief and heartache for a lot of families. So Legacy Hub is hoping to solve that problem. So this campaign was actually, you know, weirdly fitting for that, which felt really nice.”

Lottie acknowledged that the topic of end-of-life care is still considered taboo due to people not wanting to address the situation. “It takes two minutes to download this app, you can assign an executor so people know who to contact,” she explained before adding that you can add photographs to the app.

Working with Sue Ryder will always be “such a highlight” for Lottie. She said: “My experiences with grief, I’ve had a couple of really hard situations to deal with which has obviously caused me a lot of grief, but I’ve also come through that in a way that has made me want to help other people with it, so working with Sue Ryders is so fulfilling for me in that way and I think it’s amazing what they do.

“We often don’t have these conversations, which is so understandable. I myself hadn’t had these conversations until working on this campaign, but it’s so important because you don’t want to leave your loved ones with these kinds of questions once they’re gone, because it can make the grief even harder to deal with.”

And Lottie is the first to admit that there is no one way to deal with grief; instead, people should be free to express it in their own way.

Sue Ryder encourages the nation to open up about what they would want at the end of their lives to help normalise these conversations and ease uncertainty for loved ones.
