Louis Tomlinson is finally starting the UK leg of his How Did We Get Here? world tour, but fans heading to see the musician across the country have been issued a warning
Louis Tomlinson fans have been warned ahead of his first UK tour date. The musician is set to embark on the UK leg of his How Did We Get Here? world tour, with the first concert taking place later today at Manchester’s Co-op Live, with support from Pale Waves and fellow Yorkshireman, ADMT.
The Doncaster-born star is performing tracks from his latest solo record, How Did I Get Here?, which saw Tomlinson land his second Number One solo album. But ahead of his performance at Europe’s largest indoor arena, fans of the 34-year-old have been issued with a safety warning.
Louis has opted for a standing floor at his tour, which often sees fans queue outside the venue for hours in the hopes of landing a spot on the front row. But ahead of tonight’s show, Co-op Live has shared a warning to ensure fans have a “comfortable” concert.
The venue said: “To ensure a fair and comfortable concert experience for fans interested in first entry, a randomly allocated wristband system will be in place for Louis Tomlinson’s performance at Co-op Live. This process is for standing ticket holders only, and only those who wish to gain first access to Co-op Live.
“Fans will not be permitted to arrive at the venue before midday on the day of the show. 12:00 – 14:00: Those arriving for first entry must arrive at Entrance C at Co-op Live between 12:00 and 14:00 and will be provided with a randomly allocated numbered wristband. These wristbands will designate your place in the queue and allow you to leave the area and return to your randomly allocated position. Wristbands for first entry will be limited.
“On arrival, fans must present valid standing tickets which will be scanned to allow one queue wristband per person. 16:00 – 17:00: If you have a first-entry wristband, please return to the venue between 16:00 – 17:00 and rejoin the queue at your designated position as guided by staff. Doors will then open for general admission. The wristbands will be split into different colours to show you which lane to join when you return.”
However, the Co-op Live isn’t the only venue to introduce such a system, with his show at Leeds’ First Direct Arena on April 27, distributing wristbands between 11am and 2pm. The wristbands will be given out in batches, at random, with fans being asked to return to the arena later on and will queue in a dedicated queue matching their wristband.
Birmingham’s Utilita Arena has also issued a warning ahead of Louis’ shows, as well as for fans heading to the venue to see Alex Warren tonight. Alex will perform tonight, with Louis hitting the stage tomorrow.
In a social media post, the venue urged fans not to camp overnight and explained that those who do will be removed by security. They said that a wristband system will be introduced for Louis’ show.
The venue said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming fans to upcoming shows at the arena, including Yungblud, Alex Warren and Louis Tomlinson. We would like to politely remind fans that, in line with our venue rules, overnight queuing and camping are not permitted.
“Anyone attempting to camp or queue before the day of their event will be asked to leave by the venue security. For fans attending Louis Tomlinson on Saturday, April 25, a wristband queue system will be in place at the request of the artist’s team. Please refer to the event page for specific details.
“Please also note that unofficial fan-run numbering systems are not recognised. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep everyone safe and ensure fair access for all fans.”
