In the first episode of Love Island: Beyond the Villa Season 2, Amaya Espinal got candid about her and Bryan’s breakup. Amaya revealed that Bryan broke up with her through a text message. She called this action of Bryan a “coward’s behaviour.” Amaya clarified that she and Bryan didn’t have sex inside the villa. The co-winner of Love Island USA Season 7 added that she felt played by him. Amaya recalled the time when Bryan was about to meet her parents. However, he backed off at the last moment by saying that he was sick and then went out to a bar. She was quoted as saying:

“First time being intimate with him, he knows how serious I take that, and I’m not an easy girl. Then boom, he breaks up with me through a text message. To me, that’s a coward’s behaviour. No, we did other things. Listen, I feel played. I was so excited for him to meet my family. I finally told him I love him, and I thought we were gonna be endgame.”

While Amaya claimed that she felt played by Bryan, the latter denied cheating. However, he admitted that his actions in the club hurt Amaya. He said, “I never cheated. No girl ever came out and was like, ‘Bryan kissed me.’ It just sucks that I hurt her.”

Amaya Espinal gets candid about no-contact policy with her exes

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Amaya Espinal got candid about her no-contact policy with her exes. Amaya highlighted that she still maintains the policy. However, she thinks that if a relationship ended without a proper closure, then two former partners can have mature conversations. She was quoted as saying:

“I’m still following the policy of not being friends with any exes. However, that doesn’t take away from being able to have a mature conversation, especially when things were left very unclear.”

On August 27, 2025, Amaya Espinal took to her Instagram Stories to announce her breakup with Bryan. She shared that after leaving the villa, it became clear to her that they were on two different journeys. Sharing the reason behind their split, Amaya said that their visions didn’t align. She also wished Bryan all the best. She wrote:

“My papayas – Bryan and I are no longer together. After leaving the villa, it became very clear that we were on two different journeys. Our visions didn’t align and relationships are supposed to be a team sport. You don’t have to drink the whole sea to know it’s salty. All love here and I truly wish him the best – Amaya Papaya.”
