Love Island’s Konnor Ewudzi is well known for the iconic hairstyle he went into the villa with, but has now shared that the very look he became famed for is the reason he needed a hair transplant
A Love Island star known for his iconic hair do has shared how the his hairstyle caused him to need a hair transplant. Konnor Ewudzi, who appeared on both series 11 and the third series of All Stars.
During his first go in the villa, he had his hair in dreadlocks that were tied in a top knot. Fans loved his look, but Konnor has shared that the top knot wasn’t the best for his head.
Opening up about why he needed a hair transplant, he said: “I think it was the wearing it up that put tension in the front and pulled on it quite a bit, and that’s where I have noticed my hairline dissolving.”
Konnor recently underwent a hair transplant at the British Hair Clinic in Essex. He added to The Sun that he has a fair amount of knowledge about hair, due to his profession as a barber, but was still “a bit nervous” before the procedure.
But, he was full of praise for the team at the clinic, whom he called “amazing” and the “best in the game” as they made him “feel so comfortable”.
Dr Zabeeh, who worked with Konnor said that traction alopecia – where hair loss is caused by pulling on the hair – is common among those who regularly wear tight hairstyles.
Konnor added that he was “not embarrassed” about getting the procedure. He likened it to women getting Botox, breast enhancements and hair extensions, and, as such, shouldn’t be as “taboo” as it is.
He was fully open about his hair loss journey, sharing pictures of where his hair had started to thin out. He then had his head shaved so that the hair plugs could be put in.
During Konnor’s first series on Love Island, her entered as a bombshell and coupled up with Grace Jackson after she and Joey Essex broke up. He ended the show with Lolly Hart, with the two being dumped by the other Islanders after they lost a public vote.
Fans watching at the time wanted to see more of Konnor. They complained about his absence on X, with one writing: “Can. We. See. More. Of. Konnor . Please. And. Thank. You.” Another added at the time: “Another night where they pretend Konnor doesn’t exist? Does he even participate in the show?”
He was also a bombshell on All Stars. He first coupled up with Millie Court but quickly went on to couple up with Whitney Adebayo. Throughout his time on the show, he was coupled up with both Millie and Whitney once more each, before eventually being in a partnership with USA Islander Imani Wheeler. The two were dumped after receiving the fewest votes for favourite couple.
