Former Love Island star Sharon Gaffka took to Instagram on Friday to share the news she and fiance Matthew Torbitt have welcomed a baby boy.

Love Island star Sharon Gaffka revealed she has given birth as she took to social media to share adorable snaps of her newborn baby. Sharon and her fiancé, Matthew Torbitt, announced the good news on social media on Friday as they posted a collection of polaroid pics from the hospital.

Captioning the post in light of England’s World Cup loss to Argentina, Sharon jokingly wrote: “Football might not have come home, but someone else did.”

While the couple haven’t yet announced the little boy’s name, they were inundated with congratulations comments as fans and celebs took to the comments. Fellow Love island star Paige Thorne, who is expecting her own baby, wrote: “Congratulations! Hope you guys have the happiest memories.”

Love Island star Joanna Chimonides said, “Congratulations Angel!!!”, while Liberty Poole penned: “Congratulations, he’s gorgeous.” Sharon and Matthew have been engaged since December 2025 after he popped the question on a holiday to Switzerland.

The duo only unveiled their romance in March of last year, having previously kept quiet about her private life since her Love Island days.

Their baby news followed shortly after, announcing the happy news back in March of this year with an Instagram post.

She wrote at the time: “When I thought I was going to be spending my 30th birthday weekend with my head in a toilet… this isn’t quite what I had in mine! Baby Gaffka-Torbitt is on their way!”

Sharon had hoped to find a boyfriend when she joined the seventh series of Love Island back in 2021 back in 2021 – but that wasn’t where she’d find her happily ever after.

She was briefly coupled with Huge Hammond during her time in the villa, but later accused him of “inappropriately touching her” – which he has vehemently denied.

The former reality TV star alleged her friendship with Hugo ended after Love Island because of his behaviour off the show, however he took to social media to describe her claims as “completely false”.

Sharon has since remained tight-lipped about her romantic life, but tragically revealed two years ago that she had suffered a miscarriage.

Opening up last year as she marked what would have been her baby’s first birthday, she said: “Grief is not a linear process.

“I’m tired of being told that time is a healer and this truth is especially evident in the aftermath of miscarriage for those who never planned to have children.

“Feelings of loss, confusion, guilt and even relief can surface unexpectedly, and these emotions are all very valid.”
