West Godavari: Tollywood lyricist Anantha Sriram on Monday approached the district administration and lodged a complaint at the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) at the Collectorate office in Bhimavaram, alleging that his parents C. V. V. Satyanarayana and Umarani, faced a threat to their lives over a property dispute in their native village at Doddipatla.

He stated that his parents owned a five-cent plot ( approximately 2,178 square feet) situated in front of his family’s home in Doddipatla village, Yalamanchili Mandal, near Palakollu, which was encroached upon. He said that a dispute regarding this small piece of land is under dispute, and currently, litigation is pending in court.

Anantha Sriram alleged in his complaint that Surya Prakash, the son of former MP Harirama Jogaiah (who also happens to be his uncle) , has been subjecting his aged parents to threats and causing them severe mental harassment over this property. In light of these circumstances, Anantha Sriram submitted complaints to both the District Collector and the Superintendent of Police (SP), expressing his apprehension regarding the safety of his parents’ lives and seeking police protection.
