“This GOLD is BLOODY BOLD,” wrote the makers while unveiling the trailer of Maa Inti Bangaram. Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays a courageous housewife who goes to any extent to protect her family. But does she also carry a dark past? That question will only be answered when the film releases on June 19. For now, Samantha appears locked in relentless combat, armed with sharp and gritty action moves choreographed by action directors Lee Whittaker and Aejaz Gulab.

Samantha’s lone warrior avatar
The trailer cleverly juxtaposes the protagonist’s domestic life with her fierce warrior side. From a striking portrait of Goddess Kali to tense family dynamics involving a new daughter-in-law, everyday household conversations, and the introduction of unusual antagonists, the narrative adds several intriguing layers. Director BV Nandini Reddy appears to blend mass entertainment with emotional depth and social nuance. The trailer also explores what a woman goes through when she faces passive-aggressive remarks, constant comparisons, and emotional pressure within a family setup. Samantha’s character emerges as emotionally resilient and fiercely determined throughout the promo.
Title carries a deeper meaning
Raj Nidimoru, one of the writers and the creator of the film, is best known for The Family Man. This project also marks his first professional collaboration with Samantha after their marriage. Speaking about the title, Raj explained its sociological significance. “When we call a daughter-in-law ‘bangaram’ (gold), it doesn’t just signify affection, but also hints at control and possessiveness. There is a deeper, darker side to owning somebody,” he shared.

‘Samantha is extremely difficult to convince’
Director Nandini Reddy praised Samantha’s evolution as an actor during the trailer launch event. “Samantha is very difficult to convince. Working with her is like giving a NEET exam. She has become a tougher examiner. The Samantha of earlier days is vastly different from the Samantha of today. She is a top-tier talent,” she said. Apart from Samantha, the film also stars Diganth and Gulshan Devaiah in pivotal roles. Music for the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan of Kalki 2898 AD fame. Maa Inti Bangaram is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 19.
