Hyderabad: The Priyadharshini Jurala Project (PJP) in erstwhile Mahbubnagar district is getting 2.17 lakh cusecs of inflows from the upstream areas and the irrigation officials are releasing 2.34 lakh cusecs of water downstream by opening 30 gates.
At 9 am on Saturday, the PJP was getting 2.17 lakh cusecs of inflows. As it is getting inflows, the officials continued to release water downstream in the wake of a rain alert for the next few days.
Meanwhile, the Medigadda barrage in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district is receiving 74,397 cusecs of inflows and the same amount of water was released by opening 85 gates. The Godavari River is in free flow at the barrage, officials said.
