
Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at a furniture factory near Vintage Function Hall in Gudimalkapur on Monday night. The blaze spread to two adjoining furniture units, which spread rapidly due to the flammable material present in the workshops.
On receiving information, the Gudimalkapur police and fire department personnel rushed to the spot and took up firefighting operations with four fire engines.
They managed to bring the blaze under control after several hours of effort, ensuring that it did not spread to nearby buildings.
Kulsumpura ACP Tirupathi supervised the relief operations. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and an inquiry is underway.
