Hyderabad:The Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) in a statement invited eligible people to avail of the Cheyutha scheme to provide pensions for widows, single women, specially abled , toddy tappers, weavers, filaria and dialysis patients. The last date to apply is August 31 and the applications are available at the municipal corporation ward and circle offices. According to the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), the first phase also covers persons with blood disorders including thalassemia, sickle cell disease and haemophilia.
Youth booked for sexual assault on minor girl
Hyderabad:Kushaiguda police registered a case against a 24-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl, resulting in her pregnancy. A complaint lodged by the victim’s mother named the accused at Abhishek. The case was transferred from Chikkadpally police station and registered with the Kushaiguda police who re-registered the case and took up investigations. The accused will face action as per law based on the findings of the probe, police said.
Bolaram Rly Station: Student Dies Falling Under Moving Train
Hyderabad:A 17-year-old student died after he came under a moving train near the Bolaram railway station on Sunday. He had recently completed his intermediate exams. Police said he used to walk along the railway tracks regularly, and the death could have been the result of an accident. RPF-Secunderabad sub-inspector S.V Subbareddy inspected the spot, conducted the panchanama and sent the victim’s body to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. The victim’s mobile phone was recovered from the scene and was being examined, police said.
