Hyderabad: Police seized 172 cattle allegedly being transported illegally in several police station limits in Hyderabad, police said. Special inspections were conducted with municipal officials in Madannapet, Nagole, Santosh Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, Saroornagar, LB Nagar, Boinpally and Abdullapurmet.
Police said 13 animals were shifted to goshalas, while 103 were moved to the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation Animal Protection Centre at Fathullaguda. They included three cows, 52 bulls, 15 buffaloes and 33 oxen. Veterinary deputy director Srinivas Reddy examined the rescued animals at the shelter. Veterinary officer Sanjeev Reddy treated animals found unwell. Officials said the cattle were kept under observation and provided fodder and water.
