A man has been charged over an alleged double murder after two men were found dead two weeks apart on the same property in northern NSW.
Police were called to a house on Summerland Way in Gurranang, north of Grafton, on September 13 after a 79-year-old man’s body was found inside the home.
Officers investigating the death returned to the home on Monday afternoon and found the body of a man, believed to be aged 59, inside a shed on the property.
Detectives, assisted by the homicide squad, began investigating the deaths under Strike Force Faneel and arrested a 32-year-old man at a hospital in Grafton shortly after noon on Tuesday.
The man was taken to Grafton police station, where he was charged with two counts of murder and stealing a motor vehicle.
He has been refused police bail and is due to face court on Wednesday.
