“Initial inquiries indicate the man may have been attacked by animals prior to his death,” New South Wales police said in a statement.

About eight dogs lived at the Eschol Park property, according to Sydney radio station 2GB.

None of those animals were registered or microchipped, it was reported.

Campbelltown City detectives launched an investigation into the man’s death.

Their inquiries remain ongoing and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
